Fire with Fire (edition), 2017:
Fire with Fire takes as it its start point a stock piece of polypropylene fire signage of a red background with stylized flames entering the frame from the right. The left-hand-side of the sheet has been hand-scorched by the artist. One symbolises fire and the other is the result of fire. It reads like a one-page children’s book of opposites: left/right, black/white, clean/dirty then: symbol/real, machine/hand-made and unique/standard. Underlying it all there is a dark, narrative – where was this sign? What happened here? Available through infinite multiple.
